Volume 4 ~ July 2025

The A-Team is King

Hello PHA Team,

As we head into the July 4th holiday, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what makes this team—and this company—so special.

First, a big thank you to the sixteen of you who stepped up to help revise Core Value #5. Your input and insight had a big impact on improving the concept. What we’ve landed on is a stronger, more meaningful expression of who we are, and that’s thanks to you.

Here’s the original version followed by the new, improved version:

The original Core Value #5:

Protect “A-Team”

Every interaction with designers, builders, architects, and homeowners should reinforce confidence and trust in PHA. Create a frictionless customer experience that delivers exceptional value, hospitality and warmth.

The updated version:

The A-Team is King

We nurture and safeguard our designers, builders and customers, the “A-team”,  by delivering a seamless experience built on professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine appreciation.  Our standard is more than good service—it’s flawless execution in every interaction, deep product knowledge, and warm hospitality that makes every client feel heard, valued, and confident in relying on us. Through consistent excellence in our craft, we build loyalty, repeat business, and lasting partnerships..

Now we’re continuing that momentum—because next up is Core Value #9. Your feedback has been shaping the foundation of our values, and we hope you’ll lend your voice once again. As with the other efforts, we’re offering a little cash reward for your input (but I like to think the real reward is seeing your ideas reflected in the company’s DNA).

Also in this issue, we’re taking a moment to spotlight something essential: our company mission. While we’re not revising it (at least yet), understanding it helps each of us stay aligned in how we serve our clients, trade partners, and each other.

Take a few minutes to watch the video message below for a deeper dive into what our mission means—and why it matters. After that, we’d love for you to share your thoughts in the survey further below. Your feedback is helping shape a company we can all be proud of.

Thanks again for everything you bring to PHA. Enjoy a safe and relaxing Independence Day holiday!

Erin Sig

Hey, everybody.

Welcome to the July edition of the PHA Insider right before the fourth of July holiday.

First and foremost, I wanted to thank everybody, all sixteen people who contributed, in rewriting our fifth core value.

There was a lot of really great feedback and, frankly, very creative feedback, and we incorporated a lot of the feedback that we received into that core value.

It’s a much better core value now that you’ve all contributed.

And, we also you’ll also see the results of the rewrite in this communication. So thank you again. And, I think we’re getting a little better at this. And by now, you should have all received your cash for contributing, and we’re gonna continue with that same, approach going forward until we get through all the core values. So thank you again.

In this edition of the Insider, we’re going to explore our company’s mission.

So we’re not asking you to edit our mission.

At this point in time, I just wanna make sure everybody understands our company’s mission, And so I’m gonna take a moment to explain it further.

We are always willing to take suggestions if you feel like we could make it stronger. That’s that’s true. We’re willing to do that. But on this particular insider, we’re gonna have you do something else. But relative to the mission, though, we just want you to understand it. So, let’s talk about what our mission is for our company. Our mission currently says, we help local businesses thrive.

We keep families safe and healthy and enjoy a true quality home.

Okay. That’s our mission for our entire company, and we obviously have a couple different business models. Right? It still applies to all of them. So let’s walk through why this is important as a mission for us.

Okay. We help local businesses thrive. So let’s talk about the Pierce side of this first.

What’s a local business that Pierce supports?

Custom home builders, designers, architects.

Real quality builders and architects need a showroom that they can leverage. They need that expertise. They need those people that need those logistics.

And without a showroom like Pierce Hardware that really is pushing the envelope of of grand luxury, I would argue that the design community would be kinda boring and flat. And so we really help these businesses grow, because of the services we provide them. Now let’s talk about JCR for a second. How do we help local businesses thrive?

Well, if you’re a kitchen and bath dealer and you don’t have access to many of these luxury brands direct, let’s say, like like a Toto or a Blanco or something like that, because they’re not gonna open you up as a small little business, a showroom business. You lean on a JCR. Right? Because JCR is gonna buy in bulk and in volume, and then you get to go down there and do will call pickups, and JCR will store the product for you. And so I would argue that JCR over the last forty years has really enabled and helped the decorative plumbing and hardware industry throughout North Texas and, frankly, outside of Texas thrive.

They would not have been as successful without a JCR or somebody like a JCR, but for sure for sure a JCR. So we help local businesses thrive.

K? How about we keep families safe, that component of our mission?

How do we keep families safe?

Well, first and foremost, we sell some of the best locks in the industry. Right? Door hardware. It allows people to seal up their home.

And, we do that both on the peer side as well as the JCR side. You know, when COVID hit, if you’ll remember back then, if you’re working for us, we didn’t miss one day. We came to work, and next thing you know, there was a orange sign slapped on our on our, door outside that said that this business is an essential business.

It’s essential because we provided security equipment to keep families safe.

It’s one example.

The next element of our mission is, we keep families healthy.

So how do we keep families healthy?

Well, I’ll give you a silly one. My favorite topic is water filtration. We distribute water filtration. We’re taking the poisons out of people’s water.

The other thing is most people don’t realize when you look at first world countries and countries where people live longer, they’re healthier businesses and economies are stronger. It all started with indoor plumbing. So the reality is you look back at the old ancient days, you go to Rome, they had it. They had plumbing and sewer systems.

They were able to control sanitation and water quality.

Any country that struggles with poor sanitation and clean water, they’re typically a third world country, and they have a hard time getting their population to live longer because they’re always sick.

Right?

So we supply sinks, filtration, really great bathing products, wonderful shower systems, wellness solutions like steam and sauna. Right? All of those are sold through Pierce as well as JCR, and those elements are incorporated into luxury residences so that people are healthy and families are healthy. And we contribute to that by supplying these products to these homes.

The other final component of our mission is that, the customer enjoys a true quality home.

There is a big difference between owning a home that was cheaply made with cost cutting, value engineering, and the customer has to deal with those things. You know, poor carpet, poor paint, terrible cabinets. Right? Plumbing fixtures that fall apart, hardware that doesn’t work, windows that are that don’t, that don’t keep you warm or cold. Right?

There’s a big difference between that and a luxury residence where not only does the place look grand and feel grand, people feel, they’re just amazed that they’re walking through this home. But the other thing is the product performance is a true luxury homes, and the products match that luxury expectation.

We provide that. We get that. We understand that. And JCR and Pierce, play in the upper end of the plumbing and hardware lines.

So we’re enabling and allowing affluent homeowners to build their dream home and live in their dream home. And those quality homes are not just because they look like a quality home. A quality home feels like a quality home. It performs like a quality home.

And, so when you go back to our mission, we do stuff that really matters. We help local businesses thrive. We keep families safe and healthy and enjoy a true quality home.

That’s our mission. It applies to Pierce as well as JCR. All of PH acquisition can get behind that mission. I hope you agree.

Another topic I wanted to I’m gonna change topics now. So, the next topic I wanted to cover is we added, an employee that works for Clay Beaver.

She will be our accounting manager. Her name is Brooke Jones. She just started this week. She will be back filling the accounting role and accounting management role that Beth tyranny has been, has been doing for us, so graciously, by the way, because Beth was supposed to retire in February.

I wanted to just take a moment and thank Beth. I could have done it on email, and I probably still will. We don’t know when Beth is gonna transition out when Brooke has the reins, so to speak, and we’ll work on that date with her as we’re doing some cross training right now. But I just wanted to take a moment to just say thanks to Beth because she could’ve told us she’s out of here, and she didn’t. We trained Brandon to take over purchasing.

We transitioned a lot of duties throughout the company, relative to sales operations.

Beth stayed on to work with Brandon Yountz to streamline a lot of our operations and our workflow for automation purposes.

And now she’s gonna be training Brooke, and all of this was a gift that she gave us because she didn’t have to. She already gave us notice. She didn’t owe us anything. And I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for that teamwork, and you’ve been a great, a great asset to our company, but also a really great friend to our company. And, Beth, we wish you all the best with your family up there in Oklahoma. So thank you so much.

We don’t know when you’re leaving yet.

Feel free everybody to to communicate your thanks to Beth too via email, and we will, for sure, let everybody know on the timing. But while I had you, I wanted to say that, face to face here, so to speak.

Alright. Now let’s continue our direction of, offering some fun cash for those that feel creative and wanna contribute to our core values.

In this PHA Insider, we’re gonna ask you to look at core value number nine. We’ve already revised core value five and core value ten. Now we’re looking at core value number nine.

And thank you for all you do.

You know, we, we feel your unique contributions to our business, and your work matters far beyond what our mission is. And I just wanna say thank you to all of you, especially right before this special holiday, the fourth of July. And I wish you and your families a very safe and fun filled and hopefully relaxing fourth of July holiday. K? Have a good one. Bye bye.
