Volume 6 ~ September 2025

Celebrating a Decade with Tony!

This month, we’re starting with a big celebration: Tony’s 10-year work anniversary!

Tony, you’ve brightened our team with your affectionate nature, your ever-present smile, and yes—your love of dancing. Over the last decade, you’ve been a steady reminder that joy belongs in the workplace just as much as hard work does. As part of this milestone, you now get to enjoy a little extra PTO (yay for more dance breaks outside the office ).

Tony, thank you for all you’ve given to PHA over the years. We wish you another 10 years of success, laughter, and maybe a few new moves on the dance floor.

Your Feedback Matters

Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent Pulse Survey. While I wish more of you had contributed (we were missing five voices), I really appreciate the thoughtful input received. The survey touched on several areas, so we’ll be digesting and sharing results over the next few Insider issues.

Because of the importance of what you shared, I’ll be scheduling one-on-one meetings with each of you. These conversations will help clarify how your role contributes to PHA’s success. They’ll also give us a chance to refine and act on your suggestions for improvement.

For now, here are a few highlights:

What motivates us most:

By far, quality of work was ranked as the greatest motivator among teammates. Second was work culture, followed closely by trying new things, then company communication. The encouraging part? These motivators are well within our power to strengthen together. If quality work drives you, I want to ensure you clearly see how your excellence impacts our company’s success. If communication matters to you, my hope is that the Insiders, team meetings, and one-on-one conversations feel like meaningful ways to stay connected. We will be discussing these motivators with management to ensure we protect and nurture what people value most.

Company benefits we value most:

The top three valued company benefits were tied between health care matching, PTO and 401k, followed by bonus potential, and then wages. Interestingly, very few teammates ranked our ESOP as valuable at all compared to other benefits.

Returning to Core Values

With the survey behind us, we now turn back to refining our Core Values. This month, we focus on the original core value #2:

Core Value #2 – Work Supports Well-Being

“Excellent work enhances both personal and professional fulfillment and is essential to quality of life. We have the unique opportunity to grow a company and culture that is truly special.”

In light of what you shared through the survey, this value feels fitting. When we understand how our roles matter and when we’re motivated by quality work and a supportive culture, our professional fulfillment naturally spills into our well-being. Together, we’re building not just a company, but a place where both work and well-being thrive.

Thank you all again for your feedback, your effort, and the energy you bring to PHA each day. I look forward to our one-on-one conversations and to continuing this journey of growth together.

Here’s to quality work,  and another great month ahead.

I hope you had a truly wonderful, restful and well-deserved Labor Day weekend.
